Surgery date is April 1st, 2009

Today at work in the morning my new surgeon's office called me with a surgery date. I will be having my laparoscopy (key hole surgery) on Wednesday, April 1st 2009!

I can't wait to finally get rid of all the endometriosis, adhesians, cysts, and all the pain associated with this condition. Also my new surgeon tells me he will "optimize" things so we will have a better chance of being able to conceive, if that is God's will for us.

Please pray for a successful surgery for me, that everything will go well, and that if it's God's will for us we will be blessed with a child. If you could especially put in a prayer or two to the Blessed Mother, St. Anne, and St. Gianna I would really appreciate it so much! Thank you!

Since I will be out of work for two weeks recovering I am planning on ordering a few books I've had my eye on at my favorite website One of the things I really want to learn to do is knit. Maybe during my recovery time I could learn how to knit a few pretty blankets for all the wonderful friends I have expecting babies this year?

Thanks everyone!

May God Bless you.

Maria Therese :)

Maria, I'm so happy to hear that your surgery is scheduled! I'll be keeping you in my prayers.

Please keep me in your prayers. I would call, but the upper resp. infection I had has affected my hearing--I can hardly hear anything anymore. Please pray that my ears clear up soon--I don't really like being deaf!

Are you having surgey with an endo expert such as Dr Hilgers, Stegman or Yeung?

There's help for women out there, with excision surgery.

This is Endo Awareness Month!

I just saw your post when you first saw this new doc...are you in the UK, because you use the word 'keyhole'? That's great, from what I know, this doc is on the right track..cysts always need to be removed, not just drained, and endo experts can usually do the small incision, not the larger open one (which is painful!)

I took more than two weeks to recover, because I had a lot of endo and adhesions removed, but take your time whatever happens.

I took things like fish oil, Vitamin C, E, to reduce inflammation, speed healing...

I wish I'd had surgery years ago, good luck and God bless you in your mission to spread word of the Rosary.

I read another post...PLEASE PLEASE give up Pepsi and sugar! That truly might affect PCOS!!!! Oh it's bad stuff...Please don't tell yourself that it doesn't affect fertility....Chemicals, sugar, toss 'em! Look at how great Gov Sarah Palin looks! It's sad that she eats fish and other good foods, and she had a baby at 43 or 43!! please don't give up, but please, take this time to offer things up for your health and in sacrifice

Pepsi affects your liver, which affects your hormones...flax seeds (ground) and other things can help cleanse your liver

also, mary shomon has a great book on thyroid and hormones

This last site says it - BEVERAGES matter!

also, if you're not in the US, you might want to check this site out, (or even if you are)

I am thrilled that your surgery is so close (though I suspect time will drag for you!) Praying much for you!

If you want to learn to knit (I do a bit of knitting myself!) check out:

There are loads of videos with all of the basic techniques and more! Learning to knit from books is possible, but can be challenging. These videos are really helpful.

I will recommend that you get size 8 needles, some kitchen cotton (like peaches and cream or sugar and cream, available at walmart or craft stores) and start with simple knit stitch dishcloths (about 40 stitches casted on is about right.) You have my email. Let me know if I can help with the knitting!

Be hopeful, but know that God may not take your cross away. I have been suffering from endometriosis for 13 years and infertility for the entire 8 years I have been married. I have had surgery before too but God has decided it is His Will that I continue to carry these crosses. They are heavy, but have brought me closer to God, so I am thankful for the sufferings. This Lent, as we contemplate the sufferings of Christ, I find joy in having a share in His Pain! I pray that you will accept God's Will and find joy in his blessings, whether it is the blessings of children or the blessings of pain and infertility. It will all bring you closer to Him, if you unite your will to His!

Please know that you are in my prayers. God is so good - keep your faith in Him. He will provide for you.
I will be praying for you.
I think I've posted this on your blog before but the fertility diet works wonders. I followed it for two years... but very diligintly for the past 6 months. Basically you eat healthy fats in addition to one serving of one whole milk product daily. Google harvard study fertility diet for more info.

But I just found out that I am ten weeks pregnant! After being told by five fertility specalists that I could not conceive. (I haven't even posted this on my blog yet... but wanted to give you some inspiration. God is so good.
I will pray for you.
with love,
